Chapter 37 | Tao Te Ching

The Way does not act with force,

and there is nothing it cannot do.

If the world’s leaders could follow the Eternal Way

all of creation would follow their lead.

But if selfishness and greed returned to their hearts

their endless potential would be removed instantly.

The endless potential to the wise

comes only to the selfless.

By losing selfish desire,

the world settles into peace and stillness.

My humble commentary:

These words from the Tao Te Ching were written 2,600 years ago, and they speak clearly to the world today. Look carefully for selfless leaders. Watch their actions and listen to their speech. These leaders are rare. Working with a simple agenda – to bring light and warmth.

It’s easy to find selfishness and greed in the hearts of the people in our news feeds. Their potential to lead is severely limited – so they rely on fear and the loyalty of their rabid dogs.

In stillness and seeking – powerful peace burns bright.
