Chapter 20 | Tao Te Ching

Admit your lack of understanding
and your problems will disappear.
There is little difference between yes and no –
between good and evil.
Are you required to fear what others fear?
Are you required to discuss the question of the day?

People of the world celebrate like life is a feast.
I remain still, humble, and unattached.

People of the world have more than enough –
and continue to consume.
I remain unattached to possessions
and drift through this world.

People seek light.
I am content with the dark.
People seek knowledge.
I am content with not knowing.
People categorize and judge.
I am content without discrimination.
People strive to a destination.
I am content to wander.

I am different from ordinary people.
I rely on the Mother of Creation.

My humble commentary:

In the end, there’s no way to know where we’re going. Take love with you and release yourself from expectations. Be a creative force for love. Tomorrow morning, I’ll wake up and try to follow this wisdom. Today, I’ve already allowed worry to capture my freedom.
