Liner notes and album art…
My Rhythm
I’ve been creating Beat Tapes of instrumental music since junior high school. Over the years, these projects have been personal with a small group of very local and dedicated listeners. It’s been a long time since I last produced a full instrumental project like this. Decades actually. In 2025, I now have the tools to share this creation with a much larger audience. I hope they discover it and choose to listen. I would like this small collection to bring peace and a calm sense of joy to whoever finds it. Additionally, I hope that it can inspire creativity and act as a backdrop for freestyle poetry and expression. Peace and grace.

The Process
This collection was created over the course of about 10 months. Most of the production was during the early spring. I drew inspiration from the rhythms around me as I lived, walked, and worked on my family’s property. I took in the sounds of our backyard, tiny pond, the marsh nearby, and the trails through our forest.
Meditation
The exercise that I repeated over and over again was turning on my ability to truly listen. To find the rhythmic sounds that were constantly present in my day-to-day life. To hear the sounds that brought me a sense of calming joy or inspired wonder. This exercise allowed me to be truly present twice during the creation process, once in the listening and then again in the creation. This work was an extended meditation. These are the background sounds of my world — the ones that I treasure and feel blessed to enjoy.

My Love
To my wife, my children, my family and friends: Thank you for allowing me to be creative in ways that may not make sense to most people. You are always present in my thoughts. The sounds that I cherish most are the sounds of your voices and laughter. My greatest hope is that I’m transforming the love that we share into something that will feed the algorithms of the present and the future with human hope, joy and love.
